Kia has increased prices across almost its entire range, including its entry-level SUV, the Stonic.
Prices before on-road costs are up $500, which Kia attributes to external factors such as business costs and exchange rates. There have been no spec changes beyond the new logo.
Current drive-away offers have increased by $1700-$2200 compared with those offered at launch.
In early 2021, the range opened at $22,990 drive-away. The most affordable Stonic now costs $24,690 drive-away.

Under the skin, the Kia Stonic shares its bones with the Rio light hatch. The two share engines and are near identical inside.
S and Sport models have a more comfort-focused ride and handling balance, while the range-topping GT-Line has a firmer setup in keeping with its sportier billing and range-topping price.
The Stonic has been a success for Kia, placing third in VFACTS’ light SUV segment in 2021 with 7645 sales. That had it nipping at the heels of the Toyota Yaris Cross (7828), though both fell short of the stalwart Mazda CX-3’s tally (12,873).

SGT-LineEngines
The 2022 Kia Stonic comes with a choice of two engines, mirroring the related Rio’s engine line-up.
The S and Sport both use a naturally-aspirated 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol with 74kW of power and 133Nm of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The range-topping Rio GT-Line has a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 74kW and 172Nm. It’s mated exclusively to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Fuel Economy
The 2022 Kia Stonic uses a claimed 6.7L/100km on the combined cycle in S and Sport guise and 5.4L/100km in the GT-Line.
All three Stonic models use regular unleaded fuel, and have 45L fuel tanks.
Stonic SportDimensions
The 2022 Kia Stonic measures 4140mm long, 1760mm wide and 1520mm tall, with a 2580mm wheelbase.
Boot space is 352L with the rear seats in place and expands to 1155L with them folded.
Its tare weight is 1157kg in S guise, 1192kg in the Sport and 1227kg in the GT-Line.
Servicing and Warranty
All 2022 Kia Stonic models with the 1.4-litre require servicing every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first. The GT-Line requires servicing every 10,000km.
Kia offers seven years of capped-price servicing. In the GT-Line, the first seven services are capped at $283, $484, $338, $719, $319, $602 and $569.
In the S and Sport, they’re capped at $269, $455, $323, $608, $303, $586 and $322.
Safety
The Stonic wears a five-star ANCAP safety rating, based on tests carried out on the closely related Rio in 2017.
That’s based on a frontal offset crash rating of 14.52 out of 16 and a side impact score of 16 out of 16, while whiplash and pedestrian protection were rated Good and Acceptable, respectively.
